Emil Chuck, PhD, has joined the Health Professional Student Association (HPSA) as the Director of Advising Services. He brings over 15 years of experience as a health professions advisor and an admissions professional for medical, dental, and other health professional programs.

In this role with HPSA, he will support the next generation of diverse healthcare providers by heading up nonprofit advising services.  These services will leverage resources that are free to the aspiring students that have already been developed by HPSA.

“My goal is to help students to gain confidence in themselves and to become successful members of the interprofessional healthcare community,” says Chuck. “I am really excited by the opportunity to build out additional services to support students from underserved communities in their journey to become health professionals.  I am also interested in helping those who may have less help from their advisors as they are interested in other fields such as dentistry, pharmacy, podiatry, optometry, veterinary medicine, psychology, rehabilitative sciences, and research (Ph.D.).”

Emil Chuck has long been actively involved with the Student Doctor Network, published by HPSA. He has published nine articles on the Student Doctor Network website, most recently on the topic of virtual interviews along with an accompanying video:

“We are really excited to bring Emil Chuck on board,” says Laura Turner, Executive Director of HPSA. “His extensive experience in helping students and in admissions will be a huge asset as we expand our program offerings.”
