Supporting Successful Applicants and Healthcare Providers<\/h2><\/div>

HPSA offers in-person and online course and workshop offerings to help students. These courses teach students about health professional school admissions processes and the skills needed to be successful healthcare professionals.<\/p>\n

Courses<\/h3>\n

Becoming a Student Doctor<\/strong><\/a>
\nBecoming a Student Doctor is an advanced, self-directed and paced online course that empowers students to better understand the complexities of the healthcare system and articulate how they see themselves serving within it.<\/p>\n

Workshops<\/h3>\n

Situational Judgment Test Workshop<\/strong><\/a>
\nSituational or behavioral judgment assessments are becoming a common requirement for admission to health professional programs. Multiple mini-interviews, the AAMC PREview exam, and the Casper exam all present students with a scenario and ask them to think about possible approaches and solutions methodically.\u00a0In this 90-minute interactive workshop, attendees will learn about different approaches to conflict resolution and practice applying these approaches to simulated situations.<\/p>\n

Undergraduate Medical Accelerator Program (UMAP)<\/a>
\n<\/strong>Administered in partnership with medical schools and area community colleges, this half-day hybrid (in-person and virtual) seminar provides current community college students with the information they need to plan their path to medical school. Information covered includes an overview of the medical school admissions process, prerequisite course requirements, and suggestions for extracurricular activities. In addition, students can get answers from medical school admissions team members, current medical students, and their school student services representatives during a “Resource Roundup” session.
